Introducing three custom-designed writing instruments created especially for security-minded organizations and institutions across the United States. These pens are long lasting, reasonably priced, take up little shelf space, and are tailor made for prison populations and other secure facilities.

YORK HIGH SECURITY PEN#117:Since 1991, the York Security Pen has been the pen of choice for prisons and other secure institutions across the country. It is the only soft, all plastic writing instrument available today. With 100% plastic construction, it cannot be turned into a weapon. (Even the smooth writing roller ball tip is plastic.) It cannot be used as a hidden receptacle.
The pen has a water based ink so can be washed off from most surfaces.

YORK FLEX PEN#650 is made from a bendable clear poly vinyl. It contains a bic type clear refill.

YORK CLEAR BARREL PVC SECURITY PEN #646:The York Barrel Security Pen #646 cannot be used to hide contraband. Lightweight and plastic, it breaks away upon impact but is sturdy and comfortable enough as a writing instrument. Made in the U.S.A., it is assembled by an association of the handicapped. Guaranteed five-year shelf life.

In 1991, the New York Department of Corrections declared the York High Security Pen #117 as its writing instrument of choice:
"We have had numerous instances before where guys were getting stabbed with (stick) pens. The York High Security Pens were first purchased by order of our Chief of Security who was determined to get rid of the pens we had then. Since we replaced them with the York High Security Pen, we have had no stabbings with pens. With other pens, you could take out the inserts but the York High Security Pen does not come apart to be turned into a weapon. The quality is good. Its a good investment."
Michael Cortez,
Former Deputy Commissary Coordinator, New York City Department of Corrections
With all the issues you have to worry about at your facility, you can be assured that this pen will relieve you of one very annoying concern!
